Brittany and I have known each other for years. She is a sweet, genuine, BEAUTIFUL girl! Two years ago, I photographed her family in Nags Head, NC (one of my favorite places). When I received her email about wedding photography I was SO excited!
I couldn’t be happier for Brittany and Derek! We met at her parent’s gorgeous home in Lancaster, VA for their session. Their wedding will be there next fall. And what a DREAM location to shoot…. there was a field of wheat, a cool old fence, a river, boat, pier, you name it… it was a photographer’s dream. Pair all that, with an incredible couple and you’ve got yourself one really pretty engagement session!
They are so cute! Like, seriously… the cutest! The way he kisses her nose and the way they look at each other- it’s perfect. I was so excited they wanted to incorporate their ADORABLE doggies too! I am an animal lover!!! With the amount of pictures I post of them on instagram, you probably already knew that :) They also brought along some fun props!
I think my favorite (and least favorite) part of the session would definitely be on the boat! Okay, so… I am not particularly fond of small boats. And to be completely honest, they scare me to death. Well, they had an adorable boat and a river and I KNEW I just had to get them in that boat. So I did :) Then Derek tells me there is an island with sand just across the water. Then, I just had to do that too… but that also involves me getting in a little boat. Oh dear! I was so scared but I would do it again because those images are my favorite from the session! The two of them were so awesome, they even got in the water for me! And lucky me, after the session they sent me home with more than a dozen crabs!!! Yummm, my FAVORITE food!
Brittany and Derek were SO much fun to work with and their wedding is going to be so fabulous!
I am so happy you found each other and so excited for all that’s happening in your lives!!! Thank you for allowing me to play a tiny part in it :) Love you two! xoxo
