Last October, I had the pleasure of photographing one of the most amazing couples (and wedding) of all time! Jillian and Will’s enchanted garden wedding at Edgar Allan Poe Museum in Richmond. Jillian put together the most beautiful details. She had vintage elements with a touch of light pink and gold. She had a lot of unique items; found, old, new, you name it! I loved the FEEL of their wedding. It was super laid back, but unique and put together. I could shoot weddings like theirs every weekend and never get tired of it! It felt so organic and natural, I loved it! And Jillian and Will… well, they are just about the sweetest couple I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet! I REALLY love those two! Just LOVE them <3

After the wedding, Jillian and I worked together to get their FABULOUS wedding featured somewhere. I’ve never submitted my work to a publication before so this was a very new experience for me. After a while of not hearing anything back, one evening this past winter I received an email that their wedding had been chosen! I was SO excited that my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! It was a dream come true. I frantically called Jillian to tell her the news and we were both squealing about it like little girls!
Well, last week the UPS man dropped off a wonderful surprise. 3 issues of The Knot DC, Maryland & Virginia. I tore it open and flipped through it until I found their 4 page spread! I just sat on the sofa and gazed at it. This is MY VERY FIRST wedding to ever be published in a magazine. I feel so very blessed! There’s something so special about holding your work in your hands, flipping through it… I’m so used to seeing everything on a computer screen!
So I just want to give a HUGE shout out to The Knot for this INCREDIBLE opportunity and to Jillian who is seriously the bomb! I would have never made it in the magazine without her help and without her impeccable taste :)
