As you all may have notice by now, I’m shooting a lot more film! I’ve been “experimenting” in different lighting situations and really wanted to try full sun. I asked my good friends Jen and Ashley who are also wedding photographers if they had any weddings they wouldn’t mind if I tagged along and played with my film. They were super sweet and willing to let me come to any of their weddings! I of course can experiment with shooting in full sun using film at my own weddings but I don’t really think that would be a good idea- especially since I wasn’t sure how different film stocks would handle full sun, until now :)
They ended up having a wedding on a Tuesday in Outer Banks, North Carolina and I was totally down for it! Number 1, because my family and I vacation there every year so I am familiar with the area and LOVE it there and number 2, I knew full sun and sand would be a tricky combination for me to experiment with! And tricky is what I needed!!! You can never predict lighting situations on a wedding day so you have to be ready to take on anything!
I am so pleased with the results and feeling relieved that I’ve figured this one out!
Johnna and Ari’s wedding was GORGEOUS! They were married right on the beach, it was beautiful. The bridesmaid’s blue dresses really popped against the sand. I also really loved how light the groomsman attire was… totally fitting for an oceanfront wedding! They also included their adorable doggy, Boscoe!! And you all know how much I love animals :) He had his very own tie and I took way too many pictures of him!!
I am so thankful to have such amazing friends that gave me the opportunity to be a part of this beautiful, beautiful wedding! Thank you so much Jen & Ashley- love you girls <3
