Bridal Bliss

I have so much fun putting together inspiration boards for the blog! I think it’s a good mix of the interior designer in me and the photographer. I love seeing things laid out. I love seeing it come together. And I particularly love this board… “backyard chic.”

I feel like this board is perfect inspiration for a wedding taking place in a rural setting. It’s elegant yet, down to earth, with a touch of class. I love the rich touches such as the velvet bow tie for the groom, the calligraphy invitation suite, as well as the fine china dishes. I feel like it embodies the southern charm feel without being country. Mixing rustic elements with high end pieces creates the perfect balance for this backyard wedding. The key is to keep it simple and not to worry about a theme. Choose a color palette that you love and build on that. If you choose blue, like I did for this board, all the blues don’t have to be the SAME blue. Since you are keeping it in the same color family, it’s still cohesive but feels more laid back because you aren’t matching them. I love the softness of the brides bouquet… it is perfect paired with her feminine, tulle wedding gown. I’m happy with the way this came together. It was almost effortless for me and I feel like it would be perfect for a couple planning an elegant, backyard wedding.

Beautiful! Just wondering how you choose photos for these boards, is this from one wedding you photographed, or taken from a compilation of things you’ve done? Thanks!
