The Allgood family are dear friends of mine. Ashlyn’s mom Debbie, was my gymnastics coach when I was in high school. We always had so much to talk about and our love of animals was mostly the topic of our conversation. Her daughters, Ashlyn and Autumn are incredible. We’ve come to know each other quite well over the past year and I just LOVE those girls. When I found out Ashlyn would be married to another one of my incredible bride’s Heather’s, brother and last year’s bride, Janean’s son (are you confused yet?) I was thrilled! Ashlyn is a beautiful girl inside and out. She has a heart of gold and her smile can light up a room.

I couldn’t be more excited for Ashlyn and Ryan! They tied the knot Saturday at a family friend’s gorgeous plantation in King William, Virginia. I feel so honored to have had the opportunity to photograph Ashlyn’s bridals and I’m thrilled to share them with you all today!

My best friend is MARRIED! I still can’t believe it! Her and Mike’s wedding was so incredible! It was so beautiful, just like the two of them. It was so fun being a guest/photographer… my family was there, lots of my friends, and six LGP brides! It was wonderful! I’m not going to lie, I did get a little emotional during the ceremony but who wouldn’t?! Nicole radiated beauty as she walked down the aisle to meet her handsome groom. Everything about their day was amazing and I’m so, so happy I was there to be a part of it.

I love you Nicole & Mike! I couldn’t be happier for the two of you! xoxo!

Jessie and I go wayyyyy back! You may recognize her beautiful face from previous shoots. I photographed her and Richard’s wedding, engagement session, maternity, newborn, previous family photos, etc. We’ve been friends for years and I just love her! Richard works with my dad and he’s always a blast to hang out with. These two are such incredible people and I’m so lucky to call them my friends. And they may just have the worlds cutest little boy… Nolan. Be ready for him to steal your heart. He is adorable and so much fun to be around. He has the cutest little personality and loves when you make dinosaur noises at him :) Ha!

We shot their session at her mom’s house. The southern style perfectly complimented their easy-going, down to earth personalities. Nolan was so cute trying to help me catch a chicken… which didn’t happen. Boo! His little smile just melts my heart and I LOVED photographing him!! I am so excited to have the Jones’ family grace the blog again today!

Kristina and Greg are married!!! Their beautiful wedding was held Saturday at Amber Grove in Richmond, Virginia. Kristina had her bridal portraits done there and I’ve been holding them captive until today. I am so excited to finally share them! Kristina and I go way back so it was awesome being there to celebrate her and Greg’s big day! I am so, so excited to get the scans back from their wedding!

Whitney and Braden are the sweetest! I had such a blast with them. We laughed the entire time and took lots and lots of pictures of sheep. Ha! I’m sure y’all know by now how much I love animals. The weather was perfect and we were blessed with a bright, sunny, spring day. Their happiness is evident in the way they interact with each other. They are constantly smiling and laughing which makes me so happy. Photographing them was truly a joy! Their wedding is going to be amazing :) Yay for June!

Nicole and Mike are married!!! It was so awesome being a part of their wedding Saturday. Nicole looked absolutely amazing (as I knew she would) and everything turned out just perfect. I can’t believe my best friend is married! Ah, so crazy and exciting!

I’ve been anxiously awaiting the day I was able to post her bridal portraits that we shot earlier this year at my uncle’s farm. It was freezing cold. Like, it was probably the coldest day this year… I’m not even kidding. Nicole didn’t complain once and as always, had a big smile on her face. We put together a last minute bouquet with ranunculus, dusty miller, and some found greenery. And when I say found, I mean, I pulled over on the side of the road and cut it. Ha!

And her fur stole added so much to the shoot. I loveeeeed it! She just looked so incredible. I am so, so excited to finally share these! I can’t wait to their wedding images to come back from the lab!

Was it just me or was April like, a day long? It flew by! A lot has happened in such a short length of time in both my business and personal life… big changes, but exciting ones. I can’t wait to share more about them :)

April Accomplishments

Photographed my best friend’s wedding
Leanne’s bridal portraits were featured 6 times!
booked my flight and hotel for my trip to Paris :)
attended my very first film workshop
made lots of plans for the future of Laura Gordon Photography

Personal Goals:

Continue to wake up early! …I am not a morning person.
make time for myself, my friends, and my family during a busy wedding season
keep up with the whole fresh cut flowers thing on my desk… it makes my workday so much nicer :)

Business Goals:

shoot my May weddings well
keep my desk clean and organized
order new sample album
start on “the project” that will be announced soon

Overall, April was an awesome month! I am so excited for what’s to come in May :)

Weekend FestivitiesMy BFF is getting married & I'm off to NYC

Wow, what an incredible week it’s been! I feel so blessed and lucky to have the opportunity to work in a field I love. I am so grateful!! I have been anxiously awaiting this weekend. It’s an exciting one.

My best friend in the whole wide world, Nicole, is GETTING MARRIED! She has been my best friend since we met in high school. I love that girl more than words can describe. We could have fun with each other doing just about anything. I am so thankful to have her in my life. I am SO happy she’s found an incredible man she will be able to spend the rest of her life with. I wonder if Mike realizes how lucky he is?! I couldn’t be more excited for her and Mike. They are truly an incredible pair. My family and I are thrilled to celebrate their love tomorrow!!!

Monday, I will be flying up to New York to be a part of Jen Huang’s workshop! Wahoo! I’m excited to make new friends, to travel, and to learn from such a talented and incredible woman. All of this also means that I will be out of the office until Thursday, May 2nd. If you send me an email during that time, please be patient with me as I will answer them when I come back, in the order that they were received.
